From CU to DU; Pioneers Add Kingsbury
DENVER – The University of Denver women’s soccer program has added rising junior and Colorado transfer Chaynee Kingsbury (Windsor, Colo.) to its 2020 roster, head coach Jeff Hooker announced on Monday.
“Chaynee is a very strong and athletic player that can play multiple positions,” Hooker said. “We’re confident that she’ll fit in well with our style of play, and we look forward to having her in our locker room this fall.”
Kingsbury, originally recruited by the Pioneers as a forward during her high school career, has played outside back in her first two years at CU. The Windsor, Colorado native, made 40 appearances for the Buffs in her two seasons, including four starts in her last campaign. Kingsbury scored the game-winner against the Pioneers in the two programs’ meeting in 2018.
In her final season at Windsor High School in 2018, Kingsbury was named the 4A Colorado Player of the Year after tallying 35 goals and 25 assists in 20 matches. Kingsbury played her club soccer for Colorado Storm ECNL.
