Furman names Allard Director of Operations
Greenville, S.C. -- Grant Allard has been named director of operations for the Furman University men’s soccer program, it was announced on Monday by Paladin head coach Doug Allison.
“Grant has been an integral part of our program for the past four years as team manager and we are excited to officially add him to our staff,” said Allison. “His work ethic and enthusiasm for Furman soccer are second to none, and I have no doubt that he will continue to have a positive impact on Furman.”
Allard graduate in May with a B.A. in philosophy and political science while garnering Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll accolades.
“It is an honor to be able to work for Coach Allison and the men’s soccer program because of its tradition and dedication to doing things the right way,” said Allard. “The Furman soccer tradition is something very special and I hope to be a part of furthering this tradition by allowing the players and coaches to focus on the game itself.”
A native of Maryville, Tenn., Allard was named the 2011-12 Furman Unsung Hero in April for his behind-the-scenes work with the Paladin soccer program as a student. As director of operations, he will assist the Paladin coaching staff in a variety of areas, including coordinating team travel and logistics, equipment, public relations, social media, special activities and video exchange.
