Georgia State Ties with UT Martin 1-1
ATLANTA - For the first time this season, the Georgia State women’s soccer team ended their game in a tie, battling through two overtimes to finish with a 1-1 score against UT Martin.
The Panthers (3-3-1) battled the Skyhawks (2-4-2) for almost two and half hours, their longest match of the season. Whitney Ravan scored Georgia State’s only goal of the game in the 19th minute of the first half.
The two teams continued to battle back and forth, and with time winding down, it appeared Georgia State would grab the win. But with three minutes left in the match, UT Martin’s Dominika Conc scored from deep in the box. The game was sent to Georgia State’s first overtime match of the year and UT Martin’s second.
Both teams had looks in the two overtimes that would follow, especially Georgia State in the second overtime, but neither team could connect.
Ravan finished with three shots, all of which were on goal in the match. Nikki Fedele and Jewel Evans each had two shots for the Panthers. Goalkeeper Rebecca Toler finished with four saves.
