It was an opening night to forget for the U.S. Under 20 Women’s National Team, as they dropped their first World Cup game 2-0 to Germany on Tuesday night.
Both sides had numerous chances, but for the most part, the U.S. U20s struggled to possess the ball and finish scoring opportunities. The Germans eventually punished the American wastefulness with a pair of tidy second half finishes and deserved the full points. Head coach Michelle French has plenty of work to do to improve the team ahead of Friday’s matchup against Brazil.
Below is how the players rated on the day, on a scale of 1 through 10.
