Hamilton women's soccer stays unbeaten
Alex Rimmer '13 scored both Hamilton College goals as the Continentals remained perfect in 2012 with a 2-1 win against Connecticut College in a NESCAC game at Conn. College's Tempel Green on Sept. 15.
Rimmer moved into third place on the program's all-time list with 32 career goals and is fourth all-time with 68 points. Rebecca Rees '16 and Lauren Brady '14 were credited with one assist apiece. Liza Gergenti '14 made three saves.
Aina Torres '14 scored an unassisted goal and Natalie Signor '15 stopped nine shots for the Camels. Hamilton enjoyed a 23-6 shot advantage over Conn. College.
The Camels (0-2-0 overall, 0-2-0 NESCAC) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute. Torres made a nifty 1-on-1 move to beat Gergenti.
The Continentals (4-0-0, 2-0) tied the score with 5:20 left in the first half. Rees' free kick found Rimmer, who headed the ball into the back of the net. The score was tied 1-1 at the break. Rimmer notched the game-winner on a shot from the left edge of the box in the 64th minute.
Hamilton travels to Wesleyan University for another NESCAC game on Sunday, Sept. 16.
