Hills stays hot, leads Midwestern State past Texas Woman's

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Midwestern State''s Kelsey Hill and Lindsay Pritchard put on a show Sunday afternoon at the MSU Soccer Field.
Each of the senior forwards tallied goals for the Mustangs who claimed their second consecutive Lone Star Conference victory taking a 2-1 result from Texas Woman''s University.
"We played some good soccer and played a great game," MSU coach Jeff Trimble said. "But TWU did a good job in the second half and really put us on our heels for a little bit."
Hill continued her hot play by finding Lindsay Pritchard, who struck a laser shot just inside the box to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute.
Hill, who notched a goal and three assists in Friday''s win over Texas A&M-Commerce, took a nice feed from Maddie Fraser at the top of the box in the 71st minute, composed herself and drilled a her sixth goal of the season past TWU keeper Beatrice Soto.
"Those were two great opportunities and really nice shots," Trimble said.
TWU made the match interesting with goal off of a corner bay Brittany Martin in the 80th minute, but were never able to find the equalizer.
Midwestern State dominated the run of play and controlled a 27-9 edge in shots to imrpove to 5-2-2 on the season and to 3-2-1 in league play.
"As tough as this league is, two wins can do a lot for you," Trimble said. "We have a huge game Wednesday and we look forward to that challenge."
The Mustangs take on LSC leading and No. 4-ranked Abilene Christian Wednesday afternoon at the ACU Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
Texas Woman''s slumped to 0-8-2 on the season and to 0-6 in LSC play.
