<p><strong>Bloomington, Ind. &ndash; </strong>In contrast to Friday night&rsquo;s shutout win over Arkansas State that saw Lisa Nouanesengsy score all three IU goals, Sunday&rsquo;s game against Ohio University (0-2) saw four different Hoosiers (2-0) find the back of the net to cruise to a 4-2 win against the Bobcats at Armstrong Stadium.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Nouanesengsy tallied the first goal of the game, her fourth through the first two games of the season, before Orianica Velasquez, Jordan Woolums and Rebecca Dreher followed suit later in the contest.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Shannon Flower improved to 2-0 in goal this season for Indiana, making a pair of saves. The Hoosiers outshot Ohio, 20-9 in the game &ndash; the second straight game that IU has posted 20 shots this season.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In the 18^th minute, Velasquez found Nouanesengsy near midfield with a pass and Nouanesengsy pushed forward towards the OU goal. She beat a pair of Bobcat defenders near the top of the box and then got just enough on her shot that it trickled across the goal line after Ohio keeper Mattie Liston deflected it, putting the Hoosiers in front, 1-0.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Bobcats tied the game at 1-1 in the 25^th minute on a header by Maggie Murnane. And then less than three minutes later drew a penalty kick and Cat Rogers squeezed it past the diving Flower in the IU goal, giving Ohio the 2-1 lead.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>But just over a minute later, Velasquez lined up a free kick from over 25 yards out in front of the goal. With five Ohio defenders lined up to protect the right side of the goal, Velasquez &ndash; playing in her first game since returning from playing in the London Olympics with her native country of Colombia &ndash; curved the ball around the wall of defenders and into the lower right side of the goal to tie the game, 2-2.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>It is the 20^th career goal for Velasquez, becoming just the fifth player in Indiana women&rsquo;s soccer history to reach that plateau and the first since Kim Grodek (2001-04). She finished the game with three points to give her 49 in her career, moving into a tie with Carly Samp (2008-11) on the all-time points list at Indiana.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Hoosiers then regained the lead in the 44^th minute when Jordan Woolums tremendous individual effort at the top of the box left her with an open shot from 18 yards out and she drilled it into the upper third of the goal for her first of the year to give IU the 3-2 lead just before halftime. It is the first collegiate goal for Woolums, who collected a pair of assist last year as a freshman.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Indiana capped it off in the 73^rd minute when Ciersten Burks delivered a ball into the box from deep on the right wing that found the head of Woolums. Her header attempt was popped straight up in the air but Liston came off the goal line to try to catch it and missed, leaving the goal wide open. The ball fell to Dreher&rsquo;s foot and she took one touch and tucked the ball inside the far post for the goal, her first of the season. Woolums was credited with the assist on the play as Dreher picked up her third career goal</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The perfect 2-0 start for the Hoosiers is the first time since 2009 when they went on to start 6-0.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>They will put that perfect record on the line next Friday night at 7:30 p.m. when they welcome South Florida to Armstrong Stadium.</p> <p><strong></strong>&nbsp;</p>
