|Lewis named SWAC Offensive Player of the Week
Senior scored two goals and added an assist in the Lady Hornets lone game this week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State University senior forward Ariela Lewis was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Lewis scored a pair of goals and added an assist in the Lady Hornets' only game this week, contributing to three of the four goals in a 4-1 victory over Howard. The senior scored both of her goals in the first half, scoring in the fifth minute and again in the 16th minute. She assisted on a goal in the second half for the Lady Hornets.
Alabama State (6-6, 4-1 SWAC) returns to action Friday on the road against Grambling State and then will face Arkansas-Pine Bluff on the road Sunday afternoon – a game that will be featured on the SWAC Digital Network.
