Hornets Name Joseph Asst.Soccer Coach
Alabama State women's soccer coach Jodie Smith has named Sierra Joseph as new assistant coach for the program.
Joseph joins the Lady Hornets coaching staff after serving the last two years at Ohio State, where she worked with the defenders, video analysis, administrative work and the day-to-day training.
A native of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Joseph graduated from Arizona State with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Wellness.
A four-year letter winner, Joseph was also a three-time All-Pac 12 performer as well as being an All-Pac 12 All-Academic selection with the Sun Devils.
During her career, she helped lead ASU to three NCAA Tournament appearances.
With the Lady Hornets, Joseph will serve as the recruiting coordinator as well as working with the position players, with her main focus directed toward working with the defenders.
"I am very pleased to have Sierra join me on the ASU soccer coaching staff," Smith said.
"She has great experience as a player at Arizona State and as a coach on the staff at Ohio State. Her experience of playing at a high level and her understanding of the center back position [is what stands out the most.] I always want to have assistants that will challenge our team and help guide them to get the most of their ability, and that is what I feel is one of her greatest strengths."
