Hornets Spring Schedule Released
Lady Hornets soccer spring schedule released MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Eager to catch some soccer action? Alabama State women's soccer head coach Jodie Smith has released the team's schedule for the spring where the Lady Hornets will get their first opportunities at game action against other college teams. ASU will play on five different dates with spring exhibitions against eight teams. Alabama State will first hit the pitch on Saturday, February 27, at the ASU Soccer Complex with a round robin format in which the Lady Hornets will take part in 45-minute matches with Middle Georgia State and Young Harris College starting at 10 a.m. The Lady Hornets will host home games once again on Saturday, March 5 in another round robin format of 45-minute games with West Alabama and Faulkner. Matches start at 10 a.m. ASU will head just down the road to play at Auburn-Montgomery on Saturday, April 2 at 11 a.m. Another road showcase will take place on Sunday, April 10, in Decatur, AL, at the Jack Allen Complex with Troy University and Clayton State. These will be played in conjunction with the Alabama Youth Soccer State Cup. The final installment of spring games concludes at the ASU Soccer Complex on Saturday, April 16 versus Georgia Southwestern at 1 p.m. "The spring is a great opportunity for us," Smith said. "It allows the coaching staff the time to focus on both individual as well as team development. We have a great group of players returning from our 2015 roster along with a spring transfer. So this semester is the time we can challenge and grow them as players setting us up for a great 2016 season." #GOHORNETS#
