Iona Men's Soccer Alums Join Together
DETROIT, MI – A pair of Iona College men's soccer alumni joined together to take home a championship this past weekend in Detroit, MI.
Michael Holzer ('14) and Julian Petrello ('17) play for the Lansdowne Bhoys FC, a semi-professional team that is base out of Yonkers, NY. This past weekend, the two won the Werner Fricker U.S. National Cup in Detroit. Two weeks ago, Holzer and Petrello were part of the program winning the Fritz Marth U.S. National Cup in Milwaukee, WI.
Holzer and Petrello join the likes of Jordan Scarlett in playing professionally following their Maroon & Gold tenure. Scarlett was drafted by the New York Red Bulls in the 2017 MLS Super Draft and is seeing minutes with their USL affiliate.
