Iona Women's Soccer Season Ends At Monmouth

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Iona College women's soccer team dropped its 2018 season finale to the Monouth Hawks on Friday night, 7-0.
The score was 1-0 at the halftime break. Monmouth did outshoot Iona 11-2 in the opening period but Havrilla was able to make five saves and keep Iona in it. Rookie Faith Preziosi and graduate student Christine Rebus had two errant shots in the first half.
The Hawks sprung from the coop in the second half and put home six goals on 12 shots. 11 of their second half shots were on target. DeLuca scored her second on an assist from Palladino in the 46'. She ended the game with a hat trick on Monmouth's sixth goal in the 63'.
Other scores against Iona came from Dana Scheriff in the 51', Jazlyn Moya in the 57' and 60', and A'Liah Moore in the 89'.
Monmouth outshot Iona 23-3 in total. Iona's only shot in the second have fame from rookie Andrea Ferrer in the 86'.

GAME SUMMARY
Monmouth scored its first goal in the 32'. Alli DeLuca dribbled down the middle alone for the Hawks and shot into the right side to beat Iona keeper Emma Havrilla.The score was 1-0 at the halftime break. - Junior Amber Crispin finishes the season with a team-best 14 points, six goals and two assists
- Freshman Faith Preziosi ends her rookie campaign with 11 points, five goals and one assist
- Junior Ciara Guglielmo finished the season with a team-best four assists and team-high 29 shots.
- All of Iona's game-winning goals this season came from freshmen: Preziosi, Ferrer and Mackenzie Meixner
- The Gaels finished the season with a 3-13-2, 1-7-2 MAAC record.
