It's Pfaff, Again
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - For the third time in the first five weeks of the season, Siena Women's Soccer senior captain Brittany Pfaff is the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week. The Charlotte, Vt. native tallied her first collegiate hat trick including the game-winning golden goal in double overtime of the Saints' 3-2 win over Vermont Wednesday.
Pfaff is only the second player in the Saints' 22-season MAAC history to capture three Offensive Player of the Week awards. Tabitha Tice set the benchmark winning the award three times during the Saints' 2010 MAAC Championship season.
Pfaff twice brought the Saints back from second half deficits against Vermont to tie the score. She ended things in double overtime with her eighth career game-winning goal - third most in program history.
With another huge week, Pfaff now ranks in the top-10 nationally in points (22-8th), points per game (2.44-9th), and goals (9-10th). Of the Saints' 14 goals this season, Pfaff has either scored or assisted on 13 of them.
Pfaff and the Saints have a pair of MAAC matches this week. Siena travels to new MAAC member Quinnipiac Wednesday (3 p.m.) before returning to Siena Field for the conference home opener Saturday vs. Saint Peter's (1 p.m.).
