JMU Women Lost 1-0 in OT to Charlotte
HARRISONBURG, Va., Sept. 16, 2012 -- An overtime header by redshirt junior Taylor Rovito (Cary, N.C./Green Hope) lifted visiting Charlotte (5-3-1) to a 1-0 win over James Madison (2-6-0) in women's soccer Sunday afternoon at University Park.
Rovito headed the ball into the net at the far post off a corner kick from sophomore Amanda Jones (Mahwah, N.J./Saddle River Day). The winning goal came 4:21 into the 10-minute sudden-death overtime period.
JMU, which lost by a single goal for the fifth time this season, dropped its fifth straight match. The Dukes were shut out for only the third time this fall.

* Charlotte junior Dakota Olson (Las Vegas, Nev./Arbor View) lofts a shot from near the right touchline from 35 yards out; JMU redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Kate Courter (Lincoln Park, N.J./Immaculate Heart) leaps to make the save, 27:20.
* JMU redshirt senior Kelly Germain (McLean, Va./Langley) hits a shot from 12 yards out to the left side of the goal; save is made by Charlotte junior goalkeeper Alex Kubrick (Greensboro, N.C./Ragsdale), 30:49.
* JMU junior Lauren Wilson (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown) controls a ball in the box but is surrounded by three defenders and cannot get a shot off, 36:41.
* Charlotte sophomore Sara Trexler (Parkland, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) has a wide-open shot from the right side of the box on an open net and hits the left post, 39:26.
Second Half:
* A 25 yard shot by sophomore Stephanie Hamilton (Coronado, Calif./Coronado) is saved by Kubrick, 54:29.
* JMU redshirt freshman Madyson Brown (Herndon, Va./Chantilly) faces Kubrick one-on one, but Kubrick covers the ball before Brown can get a shot off, 55:50,
* Senior Katie Menzie (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly) scores an apparent goal after the ball rebounds outside the box to her; she takes a shot from the right side of the field that is deflected by a JMU player and into the left side of the goal. The goal is disallowed because Menzie's shot was ruled to have been deflected by an offside player, 67:15
* JMU redshirt junior Haley Miller (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) heads a long ball forward from near midfield to Wilson, who sprints into the box and faces Kubrick one-on-one. Kubrick makes a save on the point-blank shot, 76:01.
* A header by JMU freshman Elissa Halik (Spring, Texas/Klein Collins) is just wide right of the goal, 80:02.
* A low shot by Wilson from 20 yards is saved by Kubrick, 83:03.
* Charlotte sophomore Jessica Ryan (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) shoots from 30 yards, but Courter makes an uncontested save.
Overtime
* JMU senior Amalya Clayton (Springfield, Va./West Springfield) takes the ball into the box on the left side and hits a hard, high shot. Kubrick leaps to make the save, and the ball rebounds off Kubrick, hits the cross bar and goes over the end line.
* A JMU player is injured and play is stopped; the player leaves the game just before the corner kick that results in Charlotte's winning goal.
