Kats Improve to 2-0
CORNING, N.Y. – Sept. 1 – The Erie Community College women’s soccer team improved to 2-0 as the Kats downed Corning Community College 3-1 Saturday afternoon in Region III play. It is the first time in the program’s history that ECC has opened the season with back-to-back wins.
The Kats got goals from freshman Brianna Winston (Buffalo, N.Y./South Park), sophomore Allyson Wrazen (East Aurora, N.Y./Iroquois) and sophomore Chelsea Olson (West Seneca, N.Y./West Seneca East). Olson has recorded a goal in both of the Kats’ wins. Freshman Jasmine Wiggins (Greece, N.Y./Greece Acadia) and sophomore Breanna Pangel (Holland, N.Y./Holland) were credited with assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Madison Kiernan (Lackawanna, N.Y./Immaculata) made six saves for the victory.
Next up for ECC is unbeaten Mohawk Valley CC (3-0) at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Utica, N.Y.
