Livingston, AL – The Columbus State women's soccer team used an efficient offense to breeze by West Alabama 6-0 Wednesday night at Tiger Stadium in a non-conference matchup. The Lady Cougars scored on six of their 12 shots taken on the evening.
CSU improves its mark to 3-1-1 on the year while UWA falls to 2-3.
Columbus State scored four first half goals which included a goal and an assist each by Stephanie Lowery and Emily Husted. Lowery netted the team's first goal just 5:14 into the match as she buried one home to the bottom left corner of the goal while in the 18-yard box. Exactly eight minutes later Husted got free on a breakaway setup by Lowery and the junior calmly scored her second goal of the season.

Nicholson received a cross in the box from Husted and ripped a shot into the top left corner of the goal in the 19th minute while Wright did the same exact thing to the right-hand corner in the 43rd minute.
Husted put the finishing touches on her stellar night less than three minutes into the second half as she picked up her fifth point of the night with her second goal. Jackie Ellis capped off the scoring for the evening as she knocked in her first goal of the year on a breakaway with just 11 seconds remaining in the contest.
The Lady Cougars finished the night outshooting West Alabama 12-3 and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
