Lehigh looks to bounce back vs. Loyola Sat.
BETHLEHEM, Pa - Looking to bounce back from a recent tough stretch, the Lehigh women's soccer team will host new Patriot League member Loyola this Saturday at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will air live on the Patriot League Network. The Mountain Hawks stand 0-4 in league play, but have five games remaining to make a surge towards a postseason berth.
Lehigh is coming off a 3-0 loss to new league foe Boston University last Saturday. The Mountain Hawks held the Terriers scoreless until the 55th minute and Boston University went on to score two more goals to seal the game. Lehigh junior goalie Ashley Blanks had an impressive game with nine saves on the day to improve her save percentage to .860 on the season.
The Mountain Hawks began last year 0-4 in Patriot League play, but responded by winning their final three games (all at home) to earn the fourth and final Patriot League Tournament berth. With the addition of Boston University and Loyola to the Patriot League, each team will play nine league games with six teams advancing to the tournament (as opposed to four last season).
Loyola is coming off a close 2-1 loss to Bucknell last Wednesday then a hard-fought 1-1 tie against Army. The Greyhounds are currently 1-8-3 overall with a 0-3-1 record in the Patriot League.
Charlotte Miller leads the team with five points on the season (two goals, one assist) while Nicole Wahlig has four (two goals) and three others have three apiece. Didi Haracic has started 10 of the team's 12 games, owning a 1.57 GAA and .790 save percentage. Colleen Folan has started twice with a 0.92 GAA and .818 save percentage.
Loyola leads the all-time series, 3-0. The last meeting between the two sides came in 2006 at Loyola as the Greyhounds came away with a 4-1 win.
Following Saturday's game, the Mountain Hawks will head to Princeton for a nonleague midweek tilt against the Tigers. Gametime on Wednesday is set for 7 p.m.
