Lehigh picked third, Nugent All-League

<div>BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men’s soccer team is predicted to finish third in the Patriot League preseason poll released Tuesday, while junior Ciaran Nugent was selected to the preseason All-League team. The Mountain Hawks finished with a 4-2-1 league mark last year, earning them a #3 seed in the Patriot League Tournament. </div>

<div>Colgate was picked to finish first in the Patriot League, receiving 91 points (eight first-place votes), followed by American (85 points), Lehigh (67), Navy (64), Lafayette (48), Bucknell (47), Army (31) and Holy Cross (15). The Mountain Hawks were knocked out of the playoffs after falling to Colgate in the semifinals last year, 5-4, on penalty kicks after the game was scoreless after two overtimes.</div>

<div>Junior goalkeeper Ciaran Nugent was named to the preseason All-League team after a 2011 campaign in which he led the Patriot League in shutouts with 11. The 2011 First Team All-Patriot League selection and Goalkeeper of the Year also finished second in the league in save percentage with a .896 mark and tied for second in saves with 69. He will anchor a defense that looks to protect an eight-game unbeaten streak at home.</div>

<div>Lehigh continues to prepare for its season opener this Saturday when it plays host to Hofstra. Game time is set for 3p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex.</div>
