Lehigh places 23 on PL Academic Honor Roll
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Continuing its impressive success in the classroom, 23 members of the Lehigh women's soccer team have been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced on Tuesday. Coming a year after a program-record 25 honorees, the Mountain Hawks have now had 71 Academic Honor Roll recipients over the last three years. As a team, Lehigh posted a 3.54 GPA this fall, tops among all Lehigh Athletics programs.
To be eligible for the Fall Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average (GPA) in the fall semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports, including men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer and volleyball.
Leading the charge was seven student-athletes with a GPA of 3.8 or higher and 15 who made the Dean's List (for a GPA of 3.6 or above), as more than half of the Mountain Hawks' team made the Dean's List. Senior Sidonie Warnecker recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA in Marketing while juniors Grace Forsyth (Molecular Biology) and Chloe Tremblay (International Relations) each had a 3.98. Seniors Mary Casey (Biology) and Annika Jansa (Finance) were also over 3.9, coming in at 3.94 and 3.90, respectively.
Both Casey and Jansa recorded academic honors during the fall, with Casey being named CoSIDA Academic All-District (the Mountain Hawks' first honoree since 2017) and Jansa being named to the Academic All-Patriot League team.
The Mountain Hawks ended their season 5-8-5 (3-5-1 in league play), falling just shy of their fourth straight Patriot League Tournament despite actually finishing with one more point than they did last year when they advanced to the league championship game. Two of Lehigh's three league victories came against teams who combined for the last six Patriot League Championships (Boston University and Bucknell) while the third was a 1-0 victory over Holy Cross to hand the Crusaders their first (and still only) Patriot League defeat.
