How It Happened
1st Half
The Rams opened the scoring in the second minute of play as Katrin Glyfadottir tallied her first career goal. Gylfadottir hooked a shot from just off the sideline and placed it into the far top corner past keeper Jordan Cassalia. Sam Leyh added her second assist on the season on the goal. Rhode Island continued to control play for the next ten minutes when Leyh scored the third goal of her senior season to double the Rams lead. Ari Stanton assisted on Leyh's goal, pushing her point-streak to four straight games.
2nd Half
Gylfadottir nearly scored her second of the afternoon just 30 seconds into the half, but she rang a shot off the crossbar instead. Ari Stanton followed up on the rebound, but she whiffed and the ball rolled harmlessly to the keeper. Army broke a 177 minute scoring drought when they cut the Rhody lead in half in the 68th minute. Mallory Herron drilled a free kick from 25 yards out and Carly Katalinic deflected it in with her shin for her first goal of the season. Army continued to apply pressure for the rest of regulation, but goalkeeper Reilly Lindsey closed the door and earned her third win of the season.
