McNeese State women announce 2012 schedule
McNeese State head women’s soccer coach Scooter Savoie has released the 2012 schedule and its one that has nine home games for the upcoming season. McNeese will also serve as the host for the Southland Conference Championship (Nov. 1-4).
The Cowgirls will begin the season at Texas Southern on August 17 then will return home for four consecutive games beginning with its home opener on Aug. 19 against UL-Lafayette. The next three home games will be against UL-Monroe, Rice and Prairie View A&M.
McNeese will begin the month of September with a road game at Baylor on Sept. 2 then will take part in the Jacksonville State Tournament (Sept. 7-9) where they will face Jacksonville State and Jackson State.
Following an open date, the Cowgirls will travel to Texas State and Louisiana Tech before returning home to host Houston Baptist on Sept. 23.
The Cowgirls will begin Southland Conference play with home games against Lamar and Southeastern La. and will also host the SLC’s newest member in Oral Roberts and Stephen F. Austin in conference games. The Cowgirls’ conference road games has them traveling to Nicholls, Central Arkansas, Northwestern State and Sam Houston State.
