SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – University of Memphis women’s soccer players Christabel Oduro and Kylie Davis join a panel of 22 players in Costa Rica for the Canadian U20 training camp scheduled for Feb. 13-27.
“Obviously, we are very excited for these two young ladies to represent their country on this stage,” head coach Brooks Monaghan said. “Not only do they get the chance to represent their country, but they are representing the University of Memphis. Although they will be missed during the spring practices, we wish them nothing but the best.”
The camp, led by newly appointed Canadian coach Andrew Olivieri, will trim the 22-player roster to 20 players in advance of the CONCACAF U20 Championships that kickoff March 1. As part of the camp, Canada will face Costa Rica's "B" side, as well as club champion Arenal Coronado. (Costa Rica did not qualify for this year's Under-20 competition).
Oduro helped the Lady Tigers to an impressive 22-1-1 season as she earned C-USA Offensive Player of the Year accolades. Scoring a NCAA record nine points in the first round match against UT Martin, Oduro finished the year with 16 goals and seven assists.
