Men’s Soccer Beats Upper Iowa 2-0
Fayette, Iowa: Regis University’s men’s soccer team finished up their trip to Iowa today with a 2-0 win over Upper Iowa University. The Rangers allowed the Peacocks only two shots in the first half of the match before seeing no more attempts at the goal. Regis put up 23 shots on Upper Iowa’s defense.
Both of the Ranger goals came in the second half, first in the 51st minute by sophomore Logan Miller off a penalty kick. The penalty was on a Peacock for a hand ball. Freshman Ryan Urwiller sent a header to the back of the net for the second Ranger goal, off a free kick from junior Justin Ortinau.
Freshman Christian Nicolosi spent the whole 90:00 in between the posts, garnering one save on the day. After two games, the Rangers currently have a 0.00 goals against average.
The Rangers overall record advances to 2-0 after the weekend.
Regis men’s soccer will host their first home game Sunday, September 9th against West Texas A&M at 1:00 PM.
