Complete Patriot League Release
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After not allowing a goal in 175 minutes of action last week, Lehigh sophomore goalkeeper Sam Miller has been named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week for the fourth time in six weeks this season. Miller tallied an eight-save shutout against Boston University Saturday, one game after not allowing a goal in 65 minutes at UMBC.
Miller has been named Goalie of the Week seven times in her career, to go along with two Rookie of the Week honors. As a team, the Mountain Hawks have now won 10 weekly awards in the first six weeks of the season.
On Saturday against the Terriers, Miller finished with four first-half saves, two in the second and two in the first overtime. She posted her fifth shutout of the season and 17th of her career, shutting out a Terriers' team that scored six goals in its previous Patriot League contest vs. American. Miller also didn't allow a goal in 65 minutes of action at UMBC (played the first half and both overtime periods). Miller now owns a personal shutout streak of 327:34 dating back to allowing a first-half goal at St. John's on Sept. 10. For the season, she has a 0.48 goals against average and 0.889 save percentage.
Miller and the Mountain Hawks return to action on Wednesday when they host Colgate at 7 p.m.
