Mobley Sends No. 23 SEU Past TAMIU, 1-0
THE RUNDOWN
AUSTIN, Texas – Junior midfielder Grant Mobley scored the game-winning goal Thursday as the No. 23-ranked St. Edward’s University men’s soccer team defeated Texas A&M-International, 1-0, at Lewis-Chen Family Field.
The Hilltoppers and Dustdevils were evenly matched in the first half with six shots each. SEU put three shots on goal, but the TAMIU goalkeeper made three saves to keep it tied 0-0 at halftime.
Mobley scored his second goal of the season and 11th of his career off of a Pablo Covarrubias corner kick in the 64’. Covarrubias’ serve found the head of senior Owain Hoskins who flicked the ball to Mobley at the top of the 18-yard box – sending it far post for the score.
TAMIU took six more shots but only forced one save from Hilltopper goalkeeper William Tuffin. The Hilltoppers closed the match with four attempts in the final 18 minutes of play.

TOP QUOTE
Head Coach Brian Young on the match…
“We did some really good things today, and we did some really poor things. Our goal is to get the poor things back into the really good things. However, there are a lot of positives. TAMIU is always a tough opponent – definitely a rival of ours over the last 14 years since I’ve been here. So it’s a good win.”
