Mount Women’s Soccer Falls at Navy
Annapolis, Md. (September 23, 2014) – The Mount women's soccer team was handed a 3-0 defeat by Navy on the road at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility on Monday night in the final non-conference game of the season. Vicky Cocozza made six second-half saves for the Mount after Rachel Bourne stopped five shots in the opening 45 minutes.
For Navy (4-3-3), Lily Kraemer scored twice in the first 36 minutes of the game, and Clare MacAdam netted the Mids' third goal in the 59th minute.
The Mount (1-10-0) was under pressure from the start with Navy firing four shots and taking two corner kicks in the opening 10 minutes.
The Mount's defense was able to keep the game scoreless, however, until Kraemer's strike off a Taylor Kipilii assist in the 32nd minute made it 1-0. Kraemer stretched the home side's lead to 2-0 just over four minutes later, and MacAdam's goal in the 59th minute put the game out of reach.
The Mount will now turn its attention to Northeast Conference play beginning with a home game versus Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at Waldron Family Stadium.
