Mountain Hawks host Villanova Sunday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's soccer team will return home after a hard-fought win on the road last Sunday over Mount St. Mary's. The Mountain Hawks have an opportunity to move to 3-0 for the first time since 2005 as they host the Villanova Wildcats on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
Sunday's game will feature live video through the Patriot League Network, along with live stats.
The Mountain Hawks are coming off an impressive 1-0 win against Mount St. Mary's last Sunday. Lehigh dominated possession of the ball and held a staggering 22-3 shots advantage. Freshman Grace Correll continued her standout rookie campaign as she assisted senior Darby Wiegand's goal in the 42nd minute. Wiegand's second goal of the season moved her into a tie for the team lead in points with Correll. Junior Ani Nahapetian recorded her fourth-career shutout and second in as many games for a Lehigh goalkeeper.
Villanova enters this weekend at 1-2 after splitting last weekend's games with a 1-0 win over Radford and 5-0 loss to Virginia. Sophomore Katie Martin and senior Victoria Gersh currently lead the team in scoring with one goal and two points apiece. Sophomore goalkeeper Emma Meyer has played every single minute in goal for the Wildcats this season and has managed a .667 save percentage and 2.33 goals against average. Villanova will play Pittsburgh on Friday before Sunday's matchup against the Mountain Hawks.
Lehigh is 1-6-1 all-time vs Villanova and the last time these two faced off, Villanova came away with a 2-0 victory last season.
The Mountain Hawks will return to action next Friday (7 p.m.) when they take on Saint Joseph's in Philadelphia.
