Nevada Hosts Weber State Friday Night
The University of Nevada soccer team (3-4-1, 0-0 MW) will return to Mackay Stadium, looking to remain undefeated at home with a match against Weber State (2-5, 0-0 Big Sky) Friday night at 7 p.m.
The Wildcats lead the overall series 2-0, defeating Nevada 1-0 in the previous meeting during the 2004 season in Reno. Weber State is coming off of a 4-1 win at New Mexico State Sunday afternoon. The Wildcats have five players that lead the team in goals scored with one apiece.
Pack The Stands
Nevada will look to break the program's home attendance record against No. 15 California at Mackay Stadium next Sunday at 1 p.m. The previous attendance record of 795 fans was set during Nevada's 3-0 win vs. Washington State on Sept. 25, 2005.

Friday, Sept. 7- Nevada 1, San Jose State 0
Nevada won its consecutive match on the road, defeating San Jose State 1-0 last Friday evening. The Nevada offensive attack came alive in the 64th minute, as sophomore Chrisalyn Fonte scored a goal to give Nevada a 1-0 lead. The goal gives the Union City, Calif. native five goals on the year. The Wolf Pack defense tightened up, allowing only one shot on goal in the final 16 minutes to give Nevada a 1-0 win.
Sunday, Sept. 9- San Francisco 2, Nevada 0
San Francisco got out to a 1-0 lead over Nevada in the 33rd minute, as Mackenzie Krieser scored a goal on an assist by Lauren Abuali. The Dons held a 15-5 shot advantage over the Wolf Pack in the opening half. Nevada made some adjustments after the break to create more shots in the closing half. The Wolf Pack and Dons each had eight shots in the second period. Nevada was unable to turn those chances into goals, as San Francisco held on to win the match 2-0. Moreno recorded a career high 12 saves.
Team Notes
-The team's third win on the year with the 1-0 victory at San Jose State matched the win total of the 2011 season.
-Nevada's consecutive wins at TCU and San Jose State was the first for the season. The last time Nevada won consecutive matches was Sept. 16 and 18 during the 2011 season when the Pack defeated Idaho State and Eastern Michigan.
-Nevada's 1-0 win at TCU improved the program's record against BCS conference opponents to 4-13. The program's previous win came at Oregon during the 2006 season, where Nevada claimed a 2-1 win in Eugene, Ore.
-Sophomore Chrisalyn Fonte has been a force on the offensive end for Nevada. The Union City, Calif. native has scored a goal in four of Nevada's six matches this season.
-Senior Lauren Braman has started every game for the fourth straight year, bringing her career total to 66. Braman sits at ninth on Nevada's all time list of career games started.
-Two of Nevada's six matches this season have gone into an extra period. Nevada is 4-5-4 under Dr. Price in overtime matches.
-Sophomore Madison Lorenzen has dished out an assist on three of Nevada's five goals this season.
-Nevada's shutout of Hawai`i broke a 15-match streak for the program. The Pack's last shutout came in a 1-0 win at Utah on Aug. 28, 2011. Nevada has had two shutouts on the year, the last in a 1-0 win at TCU on Sep. 2.
-Nevada's Chelsea Fricke started off the season with a bang after missing the majority of last season with an injury. The junior recorded her first goal at Nevada in the Pack's 2-1 win over Hawai`i.
-With 14 letter winners returning, seven of which are starters, the Wolf Pack will look to make an immediate impact in its first year in the Mountain West.
-In 2011 Nevada was 3-16 overall, with a 1-6 conference mark in its last year as a member of the Western Athletic Conference. The Wolf Pack went 2-7 at home, 1-8 on the road and 0-1 at neutral sites, finishing in eighth place.
-Kori Disarufino and Chrisalyn Fonte, who led the team in scoring with three and two goals respectively will be leaned on to provide offensive production. Disarufino and Fonte also led the team in shots attempted with 35 and 23.
-Dr. Melissa "Missy" Price enters her third year as head coach and fifth overall at Nevada.
-Defensively, the Pack will look to an experienced group of returners that is comprised of juniors and seniors.
-Nevada's toughest non-conference contest this season will come September 23rd against Pac-12 foe California. The game will be played at Mackay Stadium.
-Senior Dana Moreno will lead a corps of goalkeepers, playing in 13 games last year where she snagged 45 saves.
-Junior defender Chelsea Fricke returns to action for Nevada after missing the majority of the last season due to injury in which she used a medical redshirt. The Dallas native will look to bolster the Pack's defensive line.
-The 2012 season will mark the second consecutive year Nevada has had double digit newcomers wear Silver and Blue for the first time with 11 on board this year. Last season Nevada had 13.
-Junior Danielle Green started all of Nevada's games (19) for the second consecutive year last season.
-Kori Disarufino was one of Nevada's most consistent offensive threats in her second season last year. The junior scored three goals to tie for the team lead, playing in all 19 matches with 14 starts. She totaled 35 shots with 24 on target to lead Nevada in both categories.
