The lead was extended in the 37th minute when, off a rebound from a blocked shot, Marisa Garcia (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon) sent a ball into the lower right corner of the net to make it 2-0.
The Chargers salted the match away in the 70th minute. After a save by Deandra Nash (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park), the keeper punted the ball into the Mercy end of the field. Following a bounce, Danielle Widmann (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) flicked the ball forward with a header before Garcia touched it past the keeper for her second goal of the match and a 3-0 lead.
