Night Hawks Tame Lions
TU used two first half goals by senior Anthony Forde and junior Nathan Would to take a 2-1 lead into the locker room. Freshman Jean Vega assisted Forde on the first goal and sophomore Rowan Liburd connected with Would at the 41:54 mark for the one goal advantage after Florida Memorial had tied the game just minutes earlier. The Night Hawks came out of the locker room determined to put the game away and added a third goal when Would assisted senior Nick Gilpin on a free kick service that Gilpin headed into the Lions net. Senior Niall McCourt sealed the game when he got on the back end of a long penetrated pass by sophomore Steven Conway, chipping the charging FMU keeper from 23 yards out. TU has now won 3 of their last four matches. Florida Memorial had won their last two in a row and three of their last four.
Men's soccer will look to even their record at .500 on Wednesday September 28 when they face NCAA D2 Georgia Southwestern State University in the YMCA Game Night at Remington Park. Kickoff is set for 7:30PM.
