NJIT Tandem Earns ASUN Player of Week Honor
ATLANTA--NJIT men's soccer tandem of redshirt junior Rene White and freshman Samuel Reisgys have been selected ASUN Conference Player and Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week the conference office announced.
The Highlanders (2-0-3) remain the lone ASUN undefeated team and are one-of-21 in the nation.
White picks up his third career and second consecutive ASUN Conference Player of the Week honor (sixth Player of the Week selection in NJIT history).
The 5-foot-8 forward scored a pair of goals in NJIT's 2-2 double overtime draw at Radford on Sunday.
White leads the league in total goals (6) and points (13) while scoring six of NJIT's 13 goals this season.
He has scored in all but one match, including a pair of multi-goal games (Sacred Heart, Radford).
Reisgys, the Highlander keeper, earns his second consecutive ASUN Defensive Player of the Week honor (eighth honor all-time in Highlander history).
He recorded a total of 11 saves on the week, notching a 1.27 goals againt average and .786 save percentage.
The 6-foot-3 keeper made four saves in the double overtime draw against Drexel.
He leads the ASUN in both save percentage (.844) and goals-against average (0.90).
