No. 22 Kutztown Edges Marauders
Millersville, Pa. - No. 22 Kutztown received two goals from reserve Maria Borland, and the homestanding Millersville women's soccer team couldn't crack goalkeeper Casey Behrendt in Saturday's 2-0 loss.
Behrendt made two saves for the Golden Bears' fourth consecutive shutout. Kutztown, now 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the PSAC extended its winning streak that includes wins over two ranked teams.
Millersville (5-4-1, 3-4-1 PSAC) nearly match Kutztown shot-for-shot. In the second half, the Marauders totaled four shots.
Borland came off the bench and in the 34th minute, she put her team in front off an assist from Bella Jaffin. She added to the lead in the 57th minute off an assist from Crystal Zerbe.
Marauder keeper Ashley Matyasich recorded a pair of saves, giving her 33 and a .805 saves percentage in six starts.
Taylor Suskie and Kristin Lepley put Millersville's shots on goal.
The Marauders host nationally-ranked Indiana (Pa.) on Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. It will be the third time in four games the team has faced a ranked opponent
