NPSL Team of the Week: May 30
In partnership with the NPSL, TopDrawerSoccer is naming an NPSL Team of the Week each week during the 2018 NPSL season. The week is defined as matches played Monday through Sunday of the previous week. The following is the latest NPSL Team of the Week, named on May 30 for games played May 21-27.
NPSL Team of the Week
F Matheus Ayrolla, Boca Raton FC: Ayrolla scored four goals in a 4-0 win over Storm FC and now leads the Sunshine Conference in goals.
F Hisham Kasimu, New Orleans Jesters: Kasimu registered two goals and an assist in his debut, which ended as a 3-0 win over Inter Nashville.
F Shawn Lawson, Detroit City FC: Lawson scored the game-winning goal against FC Columbus, giving Detroit a 1-0 shutout win.
F Akean Shackleford, FC Buffalo: Shackleford scored three goals in 11 minutes in a 4-1 win over Syracuse FC. He also had an assist off the bench on Saturday in a 3-2 loss to Erie.
M Freddie Braun, FCM Portland: The former Portland Timbers standout tallied two goals and an assist in a 5-1 win over OSA FC.
M Mike Derezic, Cleveland SC: Derezic tallied three goals and an assist in a 10-0 win over Greater Binghamton.
M Joe Falcone, Syracuse FC: Falcone subbed in in the 53rd minute of play and went on to score three goals, in the 59th, 89th and 90th minutes, in a 7-1 win over Greater Binghamton FC.
M Cam Philpot, Erie Commodores FC: Philpot scored a hat trick in a 4-3 win over Buffalo in the National Game of the Week.
D Sora Wakabayashi, Duluth FC: Wakabayashi tallied an assist in a 1-1 draw with Minneapolis City.
D Matt Ward, Saint Louis Club Atletico: The center back led the Saint Louis defense in a 3-0 win over the Demize NPSL in the club’s first-ever victory in league play.
GK Parker Siegfried, Asheville City SC: Siegfried made clutch saves and provided the first clean sheet in club history in a 1-0 win over the Silverbacks.
