Professional soccer returned to the United States over the past week, with the NWSL Challenge Cup kicking off out in Utah.
In conjunction with the return to gameplay on the field, it offered the first opportunity for this year’s rookie class to play in front of a national audience.
NC State standout Tziarra King made the biggest splash among the rookies to see minutes in the first three matchdays. On Tuesday, she came off the bench for the Utah Royals, heading home the tying goal in a wild, 3-3 draw against the Houston Dash.
