NORFOLK, VA—Senior co-captain Chris Harmon and junior Tim Hopkinson each scored a goal to lead the
Eighth ranked Soccer Monarchs (9-2-2/3-2-2) of Old Dominion to a 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association win
Over Towson Saturday evening at the ODU Soccer Complex.
Hopkinson scored his team best 10th goal in the first half on an assist from junior defender Ryan Oakes (Virginia Beach, VA.) for a 1-0 first half lead. It was Oakes first assist of the year.
In the second half, ODU added another just 10 minutes in as Chris Harmon got a pass from freshman Ryan Condatta (Keller, TX.). Harmon dribbling through traffic then fired from 12 yards out for a 2-0
Monarch lead. The goal was the eighth of the season for Harmon and Condotta’s second assist.
Towson scored with 9:32 left in the match when Olakunle Banjo hit Cameron Kidwell for the score.
ODU outshot Towson, 20-6 overall and 7-5 in shots on goal. ODU’s senior goalkeeper Victor Francoz (Fleurieu Sur Saone, France) had four saves on the night, while Towson’s goalkeeper Felix Petermann had five.
The Monarchs hit the road next week with a game at Georgia State on Wednesday, then at Hofstra
