ODU finished second in Conference USA and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2013.
The annual Conference USA Spring Meetings concluded today in Destin, Fla., as C-USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky and staff hosted Athletics Directors, Senior Woman Administrators, Faculty Athletics Representatives and head coaches for football, men's and women's basketball from its 14 member institutions for the upcoming 2014-15 season.
The meetings launched on Monday and both coaches and administrators discussed key topics, including NCAA national governance, scheduling, revenue distribution, video and television. It was also determined that the conference would establish a Student-Athlete Health and Safety Committee to monitor sports medicine best practices. The league would also recognize and support research in helmet development and brain testing.
Nine bowl partners participated in the week's activities, along with the league's television partners from CBS Sports Network and FOX.
Sites for several Conference USA Championships were selected and will be given to the C-USA Board of Directors for final approval when they meet on June 9. As previously announced, the 2015 C-USA Men's and Women's Basketball Championship will be hosted by Birmingham.
