ODU Women's Soccer Edged by No. 3 GVSU
ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team dropped a tough conference contest, falling 2-0 in Allendale, Michigan Sunday afternoon to No. 3 Grand Valley.
The loss brings ODU's record to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference, while the Lakers improve to 6-0-1 overall and 2-0 in the GLIAC.
Kayla Addison gave Grand Valley the 1-0 advantage at the 10:27 mark of the first half as she put way a cross from Casey McMillan from the right side into the center of the goal box to the lower right side.
In the 86th minute, Addison again netted her second goal of the game off an Alyssa Mira pass giving the Lakers a 2-0 lead.
The Lakers outshot the Panthers 23-13, including a 13-7 edge on shots on goal and a 10-2 advantage on corner kicks.
Sophomore goalie Laura Clark (Lapeer, Mich.) recorded a season-high 11 saves in goal, posting 44 for the year.
ODU continues their road tour for a conference match-up against Tiffin on Friday, Sep. 21 for a 4:00 p.m. start.
