ODU Women’s Soccer Team Wins 3-0
BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Ohio Dominican's women's soccer team extended their winning streak to three tonight, topping GLIAC opponent Ferris State 3-0 in Big Rapids Michigan for their first conference win of the season and third shutout of the season Friday night.
With their third straight win of the season, the Panthers improve to 4-1 record and 2-0 record on the road, while the Bulldogs drop to 1-3-1 and 0-1 at home.
With less than two minutes in the first half, freshman Lauren Pratt (West Chester,Ohio) chipped in the first goal of the game from the near side of the box off a cross by freshman Erin Bane (Chillicothe, Ohio). Pratt is now on a three-match goal streak.
Following the break, senior Jennifer Holton (Johnstown, Ohio) tallied her third goal of the season in the 56th minute after she connected with the back of the net when she connected from a senior Shara Perry (Hilliard, Ohio) pass.
The Panthers added an insurance goal in the 60th minute as sophomore Broegan Sautter (Bellville, Ohio) recorded her first collegiate score off a corner kick.
Sophomore goalie Laura Clark (Lapeer, Mich.) closed out the game with seven saves.
The teams tied in shots, taking 14 a piece, and put eight shots on goal compared to just seven for the Bulldogs.
The Panthers head north to take on No. 3 GLIAC foe Grand Valley on Sunday, Sep. 16 for a 1:00 p.m. bout.
