Pacific Women's Soccer Announces 2015 class
Pacific Women's Soccer Head Coach Keith Coleman has announced the freshman class for 2015. Nine newcomers join the Tigers this fall. The new Tigers represent, California, Washington, and Idaho.
Ashley Arnett is a 5-4 Forward from Oakdale, Calif.
Arnette is a standout with Mustang Explosion ECNL and has been the leading scorer as well as team captain. She was a state and USYS Regional camp participant. She was a Nike Friendship Cup and ODP Championship starter and was named to the All-Star Team. She has also been a National Training Center participant since 2010 and a ECNL PDP and State Pool Member.
"Ashley can really move and we believe she will be very effective breaking down rival defenders on the flanks. She not only has the speed but also has the 1 v 1 skill to open up our opponents. We are expecting big things from Ashley and looking forward to her arrival on campus."
Kendall Bietsch is a 5-9 Forward/Midfielder from Santa Clarita, Calif..
A standout at Canyon High School in both soccer and track, Kendall has received All-League Honors fours years in a row and was named the MVP in both sports in 2014. She holds the conference record for the 5th Fastest Freshman All-Time in the 800m and 2nd All-Time fastest 400M in school history.
She also has excelled in the classroom earning Freshman and Sophomore Highest Class GPA. She is a member of the Canyon Action Leadership Team, the National Honors Society, the National English Honors Society and the National Math Honors Society.
"Kendall defines the moniker student-athlete. She is an outstanding athlete that has the speed, strength and attacking ability to be a major player immediately. We are very happy that Kendall has chosen to join our team and university."
Courtney Callister is a 5-7 defender from Eagle, Idaho.
Courtney is captain of the reigning state cup champion Boise Nationals. She led her team to back-to-back Idaho State U17 Champions in 2013/2014. At Eagle High School, Courtney has been named First Team 5A Southwestern Conference midfielder, team captain and Athlete of the Year.
She is also a part of the Young Woman Medallion, church youth group president and has been committed to doing local community service. "Court is an amazing athlete who has the ability to play anywhere on the field. She has the drive, understanding and tenacity to make an immediate impact on our team. We look forward to her contributions to our defensive and midfield lines.
Taylor Clarin a 5-5 midfielder from Covington, Wash.
While at Tahoma High School, Taylor has been a four-year letterwinner and was named sophomore top performer in the state. During her junior and senior years, she was named First Team All-League and Offensive MVP. In addition to being an ODP member, Taylor played club for Eastside FC 96 Red who were 2014 - Far West Regional League- Northern Division Champions and US Youth Washington Champions Cup Semi-Finalist. They were also U.S. Youth Region IV Championships Participant and Surf Cup Champions.
"Taylor brings versatility and work rate to our team, she can play in the midfield or as a forward and can create opportunities as well as finish them. She will be a very good addition to the team and we look forward to her contributions."
Regan Heslop is a 5-9 Goal Keeper from San Jose, Calif.
Regan was a State and ODP Region IV Team member for three years and a National Training Center invitee. She also made the Region IV ODP traveling team for three consecutive years that competed in the regional championships. Her MVLA Mercury ECNL Black Team won the 2014 Surf Cup.
Regan is also an outstanding softball player and was named WCC First Team All-Star, WCC Sophomore of the Year.
"Regan is one of the top goalkeeping prospects in the area and has the potential to make a huge impact on our program. She is an amazing athlete and she is also mature beyond her years. We are truly excited to have her joining our team and can't wait to begin working with her."
Bianca Lopez is a 5-5 forward from Oceanside, Calif.
While at El Camino High, Bianca was a team captain and led her team in goals. For her efforts, she was named to the Avocado All-League team. She was a member of the nationally recognized San Diego Surf Soccer Club where she was the team's leading scorer. Prior to joining Surf, Bianca played for Oceanside Breakers where she was the leading scorer and team MVP.
She was also a letter winner and team captain for the varsity track in 2012-2013.
"Bianca is an extremely fast and versatile player. We expect her to have a big impact in the midfield and forward lines. She will be playing with the team this spring which will give her a head start in her preparation for next fall."
Hannah Stammer is a 5-8 forward from Santa Ana, Calif.
Hannah is a key member of the So Cal Blues ECNL team that was 2014 United Cup Finalists, Surf Cup Semi-Finalists and ECNL North American League Finalists. Hannah has been a 2014 Nike Id 2 National Camp participant, was named 2014 Foothill High School best offensive player, 2014 First Team All-League and holds the 2014 Record for most goals scored. She is a four-year Scholar Athlete as well as a consistent member of the Principals High Honor Roll.
"Hannah is an exceptional player who we believe will use her speed and aggressive attacking tendencies to break down opposing teams back lines. We are very excited to be adding Hannah to our team's attack in the fall."
Jillian Van Riper is a 6-0 forward from Cotati, Calif.
Jillian has been a standout at Analy High School and has helped lead the team to three consecutive SCL Championships. For her efforts, Van Riper has been named to the All-League team for the last three years. Her Sonoma County Alliance Soccer team was Nor Cal Premier State Cup Champions in 2011 & 2012.
Jillian is active in her local church youth group activities and has been in the Cotati Police Department Explorer program for the past three years. She is active with local non-profit (Kathy's Camp for Kids) that her parents started to benefit the children of cancer patients.
"Jillian is a tall strong lefty, who can finish. She is great in the air and will do what ever it takes to finish in box. We believe she will be affective on set pieces and give us another dimension offensively."
Mary Witkowski is a 5-6 Midfielder from Kent Washington.
Mary has played club soccer for Eastside FC from 2009-2014. Her team was a finalist of the Far West Regional League, Northwest Division and National Cup XIII Regionals. Mary was a four-year varsity soccer started for Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, WA. Her team won the Seamount League Championship in 2011, 2012, and 2014. For her efforts, she was named Team Captain, Team MVP and First Team All-Seamount League all four years.
"Mary adds a lot of versatility to the team she can play in the midfield or any position out wide. Her athletic ability makes her a great fit for our team. We are very happy Mary has chosen to be a tiger and look forward to working with her."
