Patriot League Release
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's soccer all-time greats Erin Iwaskiewicz '05 and Gina Lewandowski '07 have been named to the Patriot League 25th Anniversary team, as announced on Tuesday. In total, 25 individuals were named to the team with representation from eight schools who have participated in Patriot League competition.
The Patriot League's initial Goalkeeper of the Year in 2004, Iwaskiewicz finished her senior season with a 1.23 goals against average and .757 save percentage. This came one year after being named the league's Defensive Player of the Year as a junior, posting a 1.18 GAA and .727 save percentage. Iwaskiewicz's junior and senior year goals against average currently stands eighth and tenth in school history, respectively. A three-time first team All-Patriot League honoree, Iwaskiewicz led the Patriot League with 98 saves in 2002 and is second in school history with 294 career stops.
Iwaskiewicz's career overlapped with Lewandowski, who stands as Lehigh's only-ever four-time first team All-Patriot League selection. She was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Year in 2003, tallying 26 points behind 12 goals (third in program history) and two assists, and followed with the league's Offensive Player of the Year honor in both 2004 and 2005. As a sophomore, Lewandowski scored a single-season school record 15 goals, while she tallied 16 points (six goals, four assists) as a junior. Lewandowski stands second in Lehigh history in career goals (36) and points (80), while she is first in game-winning goals for a career (15) and season (6). Following her Lehigh career, Lewandowski went on to play professional soccer overseas.
The league will celebrate its 25th Anniversary throughout the season with coverage on its website and social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the new Patriot League Instragram account.
