Panthers Blank Wells, Earn First Win
The Pitt-Bradford men’s soccer team shutout Wells 1-0 Saturday at the Keuka Lakefront Classic to earn its first win of the season.
Wells dominated the stats, outshooting Pitt-Bradford 24-7 and holding an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks, yet the Panther defense stood tall all afternoon. Goalkeeper Adam Forster finished with 11 saves, including five in the first half as neither team scored.
Early in the second half, Meleki Wamulume connected with Colton Bly, who scored for his first career marker, to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. It would hold up as Forster would make six stops over the final 49 minutes, and the Panther defense also blocked a pair of shots to help preserve the shutout.
Pitt-Bradford improves to 1-1 on the season and will host Alfred Wednesday at 3 p.m.
