Preece and MacVane Named 2015 Captains
POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - More than three weeks away from the 2015 regular season opener, Marist men's soccer head coach Matt Viggiano announced that senior Connor Preece and junior Dylan MacVane will lead the Red Foxes as captains. The two were selected by a team vote.
Preece started at midfield in all 18 games last season before earning a spot on the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for the second consecutive year. He scored a goal in Marist's conference opener vs. Manhattan on Oct. 1 and was a CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District honoree.
During his sophomore season, MacVane made 15 starts at midfield. He netted the game-winning goal in a 3-2 overtime win at Canisius on Oct. 22 and finished the 2014 season with three points.
Marist opens the 2015 regular season with a 5 p.m. contest Aug. 28 at Saint Joseph's. The Red Foxes will begin a four-game home stand when they host New Hampshire at 5 p.m. Aug. 30. Click here for the complete 2015 Marist men's soccer schedule.
