Preece Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Junior Connor Preece (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) of the Marist men’s soccer team was named CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District, the CoSIDA members announced Thursday. It is the first time in his career he has received the honor. Preece was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student Athlete of The Week earlier in the season to go along with this honor.
A member of the 2013 MAAC All-Academic Team, Preece has been one of the driving forces behind Marist men's soccer's 7-5-4 record this the season and will continue to play an integral role for the team as they march towards qualifying for the MAAC Championships. He is one of five Red Foxes to start all 16 matches this year and he has provided stability from the center back position, as he has helped the Red Foxes record seven shutouts. He also scored a goal in Marist's conference opener, a 2-0 triumph over Manhattan.
Preece is a Business Administration major and Co-President of Marist's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
