Preziosi & Havrilla Named To MAAC All-Rookie
EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its 2018 women's soccer postseason awards on Tuesday morning. Freshman goalkeeper Emma Havrilla and forward Faith Preziosi are both members of the 2018 MAAC All-Academic Team.
It is the first time Iona has had a member of the MAAC All-Rookie Team since 2014 when Charlotte Stuart '17 earned the recognition. The Maroon & Gold have had six Rookie Team honorees this decade.
EMMA HAVRILLA
Havrilla started in 17 of 18 appearances this season. She finished the season with a 1.83 goals against average, .740 save percentage and a 5.06 saves per game average. Havrilla's 91 saves ranks fourth in the MAAC at the conclusion of the regular season. She has 31 more saves than the next rookie goalkeeper. Her saves per game average ranks sixth in the league.
Havrilla had two games with double-digit saves this season. She had 11 saves at Siena (Oct. 6) and 10 saves at home versus Manhattan (Oct. 17) on senior day. On Sept. 2 in Staten Island, NY, Havrilla recorded her lone shutout of the season against the Wagner Seahawks. She had five saves in the 2-0 win.
On Monday, Sept. 3, the Northport, NY naïve earned her first MAAC Defensive Player of the Week honor.
FAITH PREZIOSI
Preziosi started in 15 of her 17 appearances this season. She was Iona's second leading scorer this season with five goals. Preziosi finished the season with 11 points, 24 shots, 12 shots on goal, one assist and one game-winning goal. During MAAC play, the rookie scored three goals had a .412 shot on goal percentage.
She had a career-best four shots, three shots on goal and two goals against Rider on Oct. 3. Her lone assist came against Quinnipiac on Sept. 26.
Preziosi finished the season a three-time MAAC Rookie of the Week.

Monmouth has a league-beast three student-athletes on the MAAC All-Rookie Team. Iona and Marst each have two honorees. Niagara, Rider, Saint Peter's, and Quinnipiac all have one player recognized.
