The ability to be an impact player in college soccer and MLS are vastly different, especially in the final third.
As MLS franchises pour money into high-salaried players from abroad, even if attackers could eventually adjust and develop into impact pieces, they are hardly given the chance. While Andre Shinyashiki’s bucked that trend with seven goals during his rookie season in 2019, part of that is down to him playing for the Colorado Rapids.
Regardless, there are still some interesting seniors from this year’s class that could potentially make a name for themselves one day from an attacking perspective.
