Projecting the U20 WNT World Cup roster
The start of the 2014 U20 World Cup is just under five months away and the U.S. is already in high gear in preparation. Head coach Michelle French and the squad recently completed a camp in Florida that included two wins against China PR.
Next up for the U.S. is a training camp in Chula Vista in mid-April as French begins to whiddle down the player pool and look for the 21 players who will help the U.S. defend the World Cup title in Canada in August.
Here is TopDrawerSoccer.com’s roster projection for the U.S. U20 World Cup squad:
Goalkeepers (3):
Katelyn Rowland, Jane Campbell, Morgan Steans
Updated: As FIFA rules would dictate (and a helper reader points out), all three of the U.S. standout keepers are headed to Candada. It likely takes a spot from the forward ranks, which will rely on the versatility of the midfielders to compensation with the limited options.
