Rangers Shutout Adams 2-0 on the Road
ALAMOSA, Colo.: After taking the road and ending up in Alamosa, Colo., the Rangers (8-1-1, 7-1-1 RMAC) stepped onto the pitch and hit the ground hard and went denied the Grizzlies any goals throughout 90:00 minutes of aggressive competition.
Senior Mark Kelly and freshman Joe Terry were both score throughout the match to gain the 2-0 advantage over the opposition.
The first half was dominated by both ASU and RUs defense, both teams holding off the others' offensive attacks and both teams putting up two shots in the half.
Regis would break the mold early in the second half, however, as Terry put one to the back of the net in the 56th minute on a shot assisted by Kelly.
In the 77th minute, the Rangers would garner a little comfort with another goal. This time sophomore Jacob Martinez found Kelly who ripped the ball through for the second goal.
In the second half, Regis outshot the opposition 7-3 and put in an impressive performance putting seven of their nine shots on goal for the win, while allowing the Grizzlies not one at the net.
Freshman keeper Connor Adkisson commanded the posts and with the help of a strong Ranger defense picked up a win on the day.
Regis now travels to Durango, Colo. to take on the Skyhawks of Fort Lewis College at 3:30 p.m.
