Razorbacks Rally By No. 16 Missouri
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Arkansas scored twice in the second half and rallied for its second win ever over a ranked team with Friday's 2-1 Southeastern Conference victory at No. 16 Missouri.
Missouri, which had allowed just 12 goals all year and was 8-0-0 at home, led 1-0 at the break.
Ashleigh Ellenwood scored both goals, including the game-winner off a pass from Allie Chandler with just over five minutes to play.
The Razorbacks, who earlier this year beat No. 18 Kentucky 3-2 for their first win over a ranked team, are 8-8-1 overall and 5-5-1 in the SEC. Missouri is 13-4-0 and 8-3-0.
"It's awesome and we're proud of the girls," head coach Colby Hale said. "They fight and to their credit, it's all them. They put in the work, fight for every ball, and execute adjustments and game plans. Missouri is a fantastic team and they cause a lot of problems, but our kids dealt with it."
After several near misses late in the game, Ellenwood punched in a shot from the top of the six to give Arkansas the win.
With the game tied 1-1, the Razorbacks had several attacks stopped inside the box, but Chandler passed from the right flat into the 18, and Ellenwood dribbled to the top of the six and beat keeper McKenzie Sauerwein for the game-winner at 85:19.
