Ranger Men’s and Women’s Soccer Headed to the NCAA Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.: Regis University men’s and women’s soccer both earned spots in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. No. 1 men’s soccer garnered the first seed in the tournament, giving them a bye to the third round to be played on November 15th or 16th. Ranger women’s soccer earned the five seed and will play Colorado Mines in the first round on Thursday, November eighth.
The Ranger men will play the winner of Colorado Mines and Incarnate Word, a match that will take place Saturday, November 10th in Golden, Colo. at 1 p.m. The third round match will take place in the West Region at the highest remaining seed following the second round of playoffs.
The Peach Belt Conference will host the final four games on November 29th and December 1st at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga.
The Ranger women will take on Mines in the first round of the tournament on Thursday, November 8th. The second round will be played on Saturday, November 10th. This match marks the third time the Rangers and Orediggers have played each other this season. Mines bested Regis both times, but the Rangers earned RMAC regular season championship status.
The third round and quarterfinals will occur on November 16th and 18th. The final four matches will be hosted by the Peach Belt Conference on November 29th and December 1st at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga.
