Regis Suffers First Loss in California
Denver, Colorado: The Regis women’s soccer team played their final match in California Sunday afternoon against the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos. The Rangers could not get much of an offensive attack going and suffered a 3-0 loss; the loss marked their first one of the season.
Regis was able to hold CPP to just a goal in the first half to keep the Broncos within reach but they proved to be too much for the Rangers in the second half. Sophomore goalkeeper Kat Crump (Huntsville, Alabama) recorded an impressive nine saves in 90 minutes of action but unfortunately could not keep out all CPP chances.
The Broncos outshot the Rangers 19-4 and saw more corner kick opportunities at a 5-0 advantage. Regis moves to an overall record of 2-1-1 heading into RMAC play.
The Rangers host Fort Lewis (1-2-1) on Friday, Sept. 14 at 4:30 p.m. in the first conference match of the season.
